Music

Name Audio Description
Intro File:Mus Intro.ogg The music used for the game's main menu screen. The music does not loop after it ends.
School File:Mus School.ogg A 1990's-styled nostalgia music plays for the start of the game, looping until the player gets the answer wrong on either one of two beginning notebooks.
Learn This music plays and loops when using the You Can Think Pad while solving math problems. It stops when the player gets the math answer wrong, following with the short "Hang" track.

The track itself is only 4 notes with clap noises in the background.

Hang It plays before the silence when the player got the answer incorrect at the beginning of the game.
Playtime File:Mus Playtime-sharedassets2.assets-511.ogg The music serves as Playtime's theme when she's nearby. The jingle appears to be a combination of the nursery rhymes; "Ring around the Rosie", “A Tisket, A Tasket”, and "It's Raining, It's Pouring,".
Hayride Too I Don't Even Care Also titled as "Lengthy". Plays in the Field Trip demo's warning screen and in the Kickstarter video. The track is a jovial and upbeat track with accordian-like sounds and snare like drums.
Win File:MUS Win.ogg This plays when time runs out in the Field Trip demo. It does not loop after that.
Creepy Old Computer Also titled as "Soundtrack". Plays in the ending screen and in the kickstarter video. The track is very ambient and almost eerie, ending with a high note that almost sounds like night vision goggles. The beginning part is played but in a different tone throughout the track. The track was also used in the "Thank You" video made by Mystman after the Kickstarter reached its goal.

Other music tracks not found in .ogg files include Runner Star Home, Cheap Cutscene in a Cheap Edutainment Game, Flashback, How to Eat Cheese, Meena Monna Moop, My Brother is a Clown, That Flips My Hat Backwards, The Side Effects of School, She Made a Mistake Right at the End, Just Messin' Around, Cheer for the Sport!, New Thing Unlocked!, and 99. Most of these tracks are used for Mystman12's Kickstarter campaign video about the Baldi's Basics full game, and are composed by Mystman12's sister Cady.

Name Audio Description
Ambient clips 1: File:Creepy sound.ogg2: File:Noise.ogg3: File:Fret.ogg4: File:Dulcimer.ogg5:File:Tone.ogg Various clips of strange sounds used for the game's ambient on occasions:
1. Creepy sound - A heavy breathing noise.
2. Noise - A pulsating synth.
3. Fret - A strange, chicken-like clucking.
4. Dulcimer - A buzzsaw.
5. Tone - A much quieter version of the Loud Noise's last part.
Ambience File:Ambience.ogg An atmospheric ambient heard inside the Cafeteria. The ambient itself is extremely quiet, and if the volume is turned up high enough, one can hear the sound of the quiet radio static along with something like screaming or shouting from elementary school class.
Quiet Noise The "UFO-like" synth noise that was heard after collecting all seven notebooks.
Loud Noise A loud "power electronic noise". The intro will start playing before looping after the player reached the second fake exit, later after collecting all seven notebooks. As the noise progress after reaching the third fake exit, it will soon grow louder while slowly turning into a painful sound resembling a speeding car or motorcycle, before looping the louder part. It also plays in the "Thank You" video made by Mystman after the Kickstarter reached its goal.

WARNING: LOUD! LOUD

Nature Ambience File:NatureAmbience.ogg Plays and loops during gameplay for the Field Trip demo. It is an outdoor ambience in which crickets chirping can be heard in the environment.

Trivia

  • The music was made by using Music Maker that comes from an old software called Adventure Maker.
  • The music was made to sound like a .midi file which a lot of 90s games used to cut back storage space, although the music for Baldi's Basics was made to make the game feel more "90s" and nostalgic.
  • The music, despite sounding like a .midi, is saved as .Wav files in the game files.
  • The instrument used for Playtime's Jingle is Instrument Number 10: Music Box.
