List[]
Games[]
Baldi's Basics Plus[]
The menu screens for the game will feature interactive assets to click on in the final version.[1]
A warning screen that displays when starting the game. It tells the player that Baldi's Basics Plus is a mild horror game and that it is definitely not educational software. It also mentions that there are not a lot of horror elements at this stage of game development but there are still a few things that can scare players. It then prompts the player to press any key to continue.
Baldi's Basics Plus is a mild horror game
and this is not educational software.
While horror elements are relatively light
at this stage of the game's development,
there are still a few jumpscares and other
elements that might frighten some players.
A main menu screen that contains the Baldi's Basics Plus logo, the gray text for the current version that leads to the itch.io page for the list of development logs and three buttons: PLAY, OPTIONS, and ABOUT.
There is a speech bubble with three exclamation marks as the notification icon next to the ABOUT button if the About screen is not accessed yet.
A screen with many buttons to select a game mode or to go back to the main menu.
A seed input will appear at the top center of the screen after completing Hide-and-Seek for the first time.
A screen that tells the player about the recent development update and also has links to more information about the game.
Hello Baldi's Basics players!
I've been very busy since the last update! I've finished the core of the game design document, reworked a ton of technical systems of the game and implemented some brand new big features like sound propagation and occlusion culling. All of this work paves the way for a much smoother development pipeline going forward.
For the foreseeable future, a new major update will be released approximately every two months! Each major update will ship with whatever I've been working on that is finished and ready to go. This means they will vary in size, but they will all have something new to discover. Thanks everyone for your patience!
-Micah McGonigal, February 2024Baldi's Basics Classic[]
A warning screen displays when starting the game. It tells that Baldi's Basics Classic was intended to be a horror game, with a few elements supposedly scaring players and being literally "spoopy". It also mentions not to let young gamers play this game, unless they are interested in playing horror games. Pressing any key or clicking on the warning screen leads to the main menu screen.
A main menu screen that allows access to either click on "START" to begin the game or exit to close by clicking on the red X button on the top right. Clicking on "MENU" takes the player to the menu screen that lists "HOW TO PLAY", "OPTIONS", and "CREDITS".
Although the "HOW TO PLAY" screen is more of a story summary than listing controls (which is actually found in the Options menu), though it does tell the player how to win the game. The following story describes below:
Baldi's Basics Birthday Bash[]
The warning and loading screens remain the same, but some of the screens are different comparing to Baldi's Basics Classic.
Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered[]
A launcher screen displays at the very beginning after starting the game. It can be skipped by enabling the "Disable Launcher" option.
A warning screen displays after Basically, Games! logo appears. It tells the player that Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered is a horror game and that it is definitely not educational software. It prompts the player to press any key to continue.
Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered is a
horror game and this is not educational
software.
The game contains some flashing images,
jump scares, and loud noises that might
make some players uncomfortable.
The How To Play screen will appear after pressing the "How To Play" text in the selection menu screen.
A style menu screen will show the name of style on the chalkboard and the player can choose either Story Mode or Endless Mode with Fun Settings on the bottom left before playing the game. In Demo Style, Baldi is hidden below the chalkboard and he will send the player to promotion screens of Baldi's Basics Plus when clicking on him.
Demos[]
Baldi's Basics - Field Trip demo: Camping[]
This is the reminder from mystman12, including what Baldi's Basics Plus includes, the demo's summary, controls, and an opportunity to pledge the Kickstarter page.
Baldi's Basics Full Game Early Demo[]
A reminder screen that appears when starting the demo. It tells the player that this demo contains random events, and special structures. It also tells the player that the map was made by the level generator, with some tweaks applied to it to better represent the final product, and that it needs much more tweaking in Baldi's Basics Plus.
Important! This is an early demo of the full version of Baldi's Basics, which is still in development. Everything in this demo is subject to change, and some things in this demo use placeholders. Also, due to how early in development the game still is, you may encounter some bugs! Truly the most horrifying part of any horror game. The best way to let me know about any bugs is through the demo's Itch.io page.
This demo is focused on gameplay and some new features that will be in the full game, mainly random events and special structures. It is missing some things that will be in the full game, but have not been implemented in this demo, including horror and edutainment parody elements, field trips, new characters and items, level decorations, and more. There's a lot to look forward to in the full game!
The level featured in this demo was created by the random level generator that will be used in the full game, with a few tweaks made by hand to better represent the final product. The level generator still needs a lot of tweaking, so in the full game, most levels should be even better than this one. I'd love to hear your feedback on this level though, so I can make the generator ever better!
And, as always...
WARNING!
This game is actually a horror game kind of and not actually educational. Don't let your kids play it unless they like horror games, blah blah blah. There may be some flashing and loudness, possibly, I dunno... Spooks and parodies of spooks abound. I'm rambling. I'm going to stop typing now.
The main menu has some differences comparing to Baldi's Basics Classic and Baldi's Basics Birthday Bash.
This is a demo showing a small slice of things to come in the full version of Baldi's Basics! It's still in development, so everything in this demo, is subject to change and improvement! To check up on the latest status of the full game, use the links below to visit the official Basically Games website, or the demo's Itch.io page.
Thanks for playing!

Trivia[]
General[]
- The title screens are very similar to the Sonic's Schoolhouse box art.
Baldi's Basics Plus[]
- By using the Unity project, the quad for the main menu screen can be seen, which contains the text of the weird message.
- Pressing the "X" button again before Baldi's "Thanks for playing, come back soon!" quote ends will make him repeat the same quote and the game will not be closed. If the player presses other buttons while this quote is playing, it shows a different screen, rather than quitting the game.
- This was also applied to Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered, but it was fixed in V1.0.2.
- Prior to V0.1.2, the version text did not redirect to the list of itch.io development logs page.
- There is a secret map located inside of the main menu.
- It only has white and black tiles with the skybox being "AtlasTest"
- Prior to V0.2, the "PLAY" button also appears in the elevator at the bottom before playing the floor.
- Even though the shop was implemented in V0.2, there was a phrase "an in-game shop (For YTPS)," in the list of content to be done from the "ABOUT" screen until V0.2.2.
- Prior to V0.3.3, the about text read:
Baldi's Basics Plus is currently in early access! There's still a lot of work to be done to the game, including:
Improved menus, dynamic music, horror elements, edutainment elements, and more content (Like levels, challenges, characters, etc).
Expect bugs! If you encounter a bug, please report it with the link below.- However, this text still exists in the caption
json
file. Plus, there was no notification icon and the shape of all buttons was a rounded rectangle.
- However, this text still exists in the caption
- In V0.3.3 and V0.3.4, there were "Development Roadmap" and "Devlogs on Itch.io" buttons. These buttons were replaced to "Changelogs/Devlogs" and "Credits".
- The "OPTIONS" button was also used for the pause menu prior to V0.3.5.
Baldi's Basics Classic[]
- Prior to V1.3, "figured" is misspelled as "figure": "In case you haven't figure it out yet, this game is intended to be a horror game."

Classic/Birthday Bash[]

- In the "How To Play" screen, "notebooks" is misspelled as "noteboos": "all his noteboos in school". Also, "practice" is misspelled as "pracitce": "be late for eating pracitce".

- Rarely, Baldi heads in the loading screen are replaced to "Badli" heads, which are orange-colored, distorted Baldi heads.
Baldi's Basics Field Trip demo: Camping[]
- In V1.0, the reminder message was only about the game itself. Plus, there was only one end card, similar to the fourth one in the current version but with differences on the text above.
Baldi's Basics - Challenges Demo[]
- In the text about the full game's early access in the main menu, the word "access" is misspelled as "aceess".
- The title screen has no trademark symbol (TM) unlike in other games and demos.
